MARKETING COORDINATOR

Location: Chicago, IL
Type: Full-time position

We are seeking a resourceful, organized, dedicated, creative, and enthusiastic professional with a sharp eye for detail, strong writing and grammar skills, experience in social media, and an interest in planning and economic development. Some experience in graphic design is required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in preparing proposals and qualifications submittals in response to Requests for Proposals/Qualifications
  • Proofread/edit technical memoranda, reports and PowerPoint presentations
  • Organize and maintain marketing materials (e.g., project summaries, resumes)
  • Organize and maintain image archive
  • Maintain and update the firm website and any social media accounts, e.g., LinkedIn
  • Assist in update/design of marketing materials and office templates in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign; update and design marketing/presentation graphics
  • Work with Marketing Director and other staff members to design map templates/color palettes
  • Assist in drafting e-newsletters and conduct other brief writing assignments
  • Conduct online research (e.g., vendor research, marketing research, project research, etc.)
  • Research/coordinate with vendors (e.g., web designer/developer, graphic designer, advertising representatives)
  • Track advertising opportunities 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent writing/communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to organize data/files efficiently
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud (particularly InDesign and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong command of grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and editing
  • Detail orientation and accuracy
  • Skilled at navigating/researching on the Internet and using online marketing platforms, e.g., MailChimp, LinkedIn

ASSOCIATE

Location: Chicago, IL
Type: Full-time position

We are seeking candidates with 1-3 years of experience and a background in Community/Economic Development and Economics/Finance Research to support our general practice. Responsibilities would include: research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, data synthesis, presentation of findings, and technical writing (including memoranda and reports). As Associates are routinely assigned to multiple projects at any given time, candidates should have demonstrated ability to sift, organize and synthesize various data in a timely manner and draw reasonable conclusions and/or recommendations from the data analysis.

Requirements of Position

Candidates must have a graduate degree in urban planning, business or real estate and demonstrate:

  • Exceptional quantitative analysis skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong writing ability
  • Strength in oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Detail orientation and accuracy
  • Commitment to community revitalization and economic development

In addition, successful candidates will have academic and professional experience in areas relevant to our practice, such as:

  • Demographic and economic analysis
  • Public finance and tax projections
  • Real estate market analysis
  • Real estate financial analysis/feasibility

The following additional skills and experience are desirable for Associate candidates:

  • Strength in oral communication and presentations
  • Experience with GIS and Esri Business Analyst
  • Experience with IMPLAN and/or similar tools
